About Ravo

Built by someone who's actually done this.

Ravo was created by Captain Rob Kolb, a captain with 30 years on the water. After years of teaching boating lessons himself and watching countless skilled, experienced instructors struggle to get found — stuck relying on word of mouth, with no easy way for new boaters to discover them — he built the platform he wished existed.

What he kept running into was a specific kind of person: a highly capable, experienced boater who would gladly teach a lesson now and then, but had zero interest in starting a business to do it. No website, no marketing, no client base, no second job. They'd say yes in a heartbeat if it were effortless — and no every time it wasn't.

That's who Ravo is built for. There's no business to run and nothing to commit to. You turn your availability on when you feel like teaching, and off when you don't.

Every instructor on Ravo sets their own rate, their own schedule, and their own availability. We don't play favorites — every listing is held to the same standard, and rankings are based on availability, fit, and reviews, not who's behind the platform.

Full transparency

Rob also personally teaches lessons through Captain Rob Boating, separately from Ravo — full transparency, since honesty is the whole point of building something like this.

Ravo exists for one reason: to make it effortless for people to find a great boating instructor, and effortless for great instructors to be found.
